woo-hoo! New L&K finally here!

Featured Replies

My new octy 2.0 TDI L&K has just been delivered, literally noly 15 mins ago, so I've only driven it roun the company car park so far!

the sheen was slightly taken off the experience due to the fact there is a 2 inch scratch on the off-side rear door...but should get that sorted in the next week or so.

I should probably post on the MFD3 thread, but for anyone wondering I got the v2 disc and not v3....need to sort this with the dealer...

will post pics later after work.

congratulations mate, bet your on cloud nine. Cant beat the feeling of getting a new car. Hope you get the scratch issue sorted and dont let it ruin the moment. Have fun in the new motor, and break her in gently. Cheers, damo

...like I said...later dude!

I am at weork at the moment, resisting dossing off when no one is looking to go drive the car

...its absolutely tipping it down with rain right now, so no chance of decent photos...also I only have my mobile phone camera at hand!

Its four o'clock, are you working over time? I had a very important meeting the day I picked up mine:)

Congrats and enjoy the kit on the L&K!

Congrats :)

Congrats :)

Enjoy the new car. Hope that the Columbus behaves unlike mine. Been waiting 3 months for a replacement unit. Skoda seem to know nothing about V3 mapping either.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!

thanks everyone - here are some pics as promised

the storm blue really pops out in the sun - I love it and how it seems to look totally different in different light, sometimes dark and sometimes sparkly :)

...I have some minor swirling in the paintwork, although not bad I know its going to bug me, so will probably have to book in with baker21 at some point

tyres are Bridgestone Potenza RE050 - not heard of anyone getting these so far on their octy Bridgestone Tyre test

Looks very nice :)

Nice looking car. The RE050 is an excellent tyre, big fan of those.

You have one very stunning car there mate

Enjoy :)

Very nice looking enjoy:thumbup:

Suede and leather?

Yes, the RE050 are supposedly very good. I have the RE030 and they have stonking grip.

Thtats the alcantara trim - nice as its a bit grippy than 100% leather and a bit warmer in winter but with the seat heaters it isn't really a problem.

yeah its alcantara - feels very comfortable to me, plus with the height adjustable lumbar support and other seat adjustments I don;t want to get out of the car!

finding an l&k on forecourts was a problem when I wanted to see what the interior looked like. I did finally manage to see the two-tone pale grey leather interior which personally I didn;t like the look of....decided on the alcantara in the end after seeing pics from other forum members....imho its understatedly classy - in fact I think I'd say that about the whole car :)

Very nice looking car chap, and extremely jealous of the MFD3 setup!! Let us know how you get on with the RE050s too!

read so much with folk complaining about road noise I guess I'm a bit paranoid about it now....hence I posted the tyre info

I've temporarily had a company car, 1.8 petrol engined Mazda 5 since feb (having sold my private mk1 octy) - never really been thrilled with it, but obvisouly its a lot quieter than diesel as far as the engine goes....you can;t beat the "woosh" of acceleration from the 2L diesel though imho.....

...now for the moment therefore I guess any noise I am hearing is actually, in the main, the engine and not road noise. I've tried listening on the way into work this morning, and all I concluded is that tyres seem quiet on a quiet road surface and noisy on crappy concrete rough surfaces, which is what you would hope for with a decent tyre I guess....as for grip and perromance in the wet etc, not driven it enough yet...ask me again in a few thousand miles! :)

Yes, the RE050 are supposedly very good. I have the RE030 and they have stonking grip.

The RE070 have immense grip too - I have a pair on the front of my Octy. They seem great in the wet as well but they have only done 4,000 miles ish...

woo....that very pretty! Health to drive it!

Very nice!

RE050 is a "fun" tyre, maybe not as much outright grip as others, but they're very pregressive. Good fun for controlled understeer and liftoff oversteer in the wet.

I'm definately going back to them when the rubbish Goodyears wear out. :)

I really like :)

Bridgestones are not the most quiet tyres, but they do last well.
