Octy One Year Old!

Featured Replies

Well I've had my first ever Skoda (2.0l FSI Elegance in Flamenco red) for a whole year now. 12,000 miles done and I am still delighted with it. The only problems I've had have been created by third parties; vandals smashing the rear window and a deer running out and causing minor damage to the front nearside headlamp washer.

The car has driven beautifully, the road holding is great and the petrol consumption has been pretty good for a 2.O litre and seems to be getting better! The tyre wear also looks as though it's better than I experienced on the Passats I had.

All in all a very happy owner!

glad to hear it, i can get some wonderful mpg readings off my 2.0 and am also happy with the safety features on it too.

My 2.0 TDI Elegance estate is just coming up to a year too - as reminded by the vehicle excise people!

Highlights - great camping trips with plenty of space and good A/C for drying out, good handling on snowy roads thanks to new tyres and ESP, great to be able to use my iPod and chill sausages in the glove box!

Lowlights - two minor dings and a long scratch down one side thanks to supermarkets and a Neil Young concert last week, fuel consumption not as good as I expected and (hopefully not related) the dealership putting PETROL in when it was delivered.

Overall though - one happy driver (and family).

What fuel economy are you getting out of your 2.0TDi?

Not enough basically! I've touched 50mpg once or twice, but around town it tends to be high 30's, and a decent run 44-46mpg. Slightly disappointed given the 'book' values. The car does tend to be moderately to well loaded - two adults, one toddler and lots of stuff.

Seems to be less economic than my father-in-law's RAV4, which is a benchmark for me, and a source of great delight for him!

All based on trip computers so probably not to be trusted, however I have done the occasional brim to brim check and its not been far off.

Thats good news Spearmg glad to hear it:thumbup:

they are always so kind to remind... and also so good and lightening your wallet so therefore lightening the car for better fuel economy:rofl:
