Government to Make Car Cleaning Complusory?!

Featured Replies

Having just given my car a thorough clean inside and out, (not to Baker's standards, but pretty good), it occured to me that when my car is clean I drive it a lot more sensibly!

Maybe the government should consider making it compulsory with councils and local do gooders responsible for issuing fixed penalty notices to dirty cars! Oh how the environment would benefit ignoring the detergent usage of course.

Could be a lot better than some of Gordon Brown's ideas, I hear they want to bring back capital punishment, not for something as trival as murder you understand, but for driving a car with high CO2 emissions whilst throwing a half eaten pork pie out of the window!

:)

I came into this thread expecting it to be true.

It is an offence is Germany to have a dirty car!

Nowt wrong with hurling half a pie, it either goes back to the earth real quick, or it feeds the birds and small four leggers.

Totally agree doesn,t get wasted.

You see, if I was following you and you threw a pie out the window at 80, I would probably just laugh! But then I find weird sh it like that funny!

Its also an offence to wash it on the street IIRC.

what the pork pie or the car? hehe

there is a rule about keeping the vehicle clean but it concentrates on number plates, lights and windows iirc.

It is - Kind of makes the whole keeping car clean thing a bit two-faced.

I cleaned mine in Center Parcs when I was over there last. Think that was private property.

Do you think the UK gov't will enforce the 2 bucket method too?

Knowing this government they'll just "recommend" the 2 bucket method, and then pass legislation that all buckets have to be labelled with correct usage guidelines.

"UK Chief Medical Officers say that using one bucket to clean your car can shorten your arms"
