That's done it...advice on comfort!

Featured Replies

And it's the only real Citroen left, now the C5 has become another Mundaneo clone with electronniccy gimcrackery!

I thought the C5 still had the option of the hydro suspension?

It does on the higher spec models. Believ it's the same as on the 6

Yep Citroen added cart suspension to appeal to the fleet buyers, traditional suspension is on anytting worth buying, eg the 2.2 Hdi etc.

Citroen is the only one I've been to see in the flesh...and it's a great car (c5) this is, except you'd have to have the top of the line exclusive and the 19" wheels, without them it just does not look right... The impact of marketing, it's got an image that is getting people in seats but something about it on 17's and cloth, just feels very french.

Also if I were to roll up at masion d'papa in a french ford I'd never hear the end of it; he's had a lover affair with them for 30 years which ended this year for him, that should say enough about the parisen options.

Bently, lol thanks Q, I don't need that much comfort...but this is exactly what I mean by top cars at daft prices now... I really am thinking that all the new gadgets and toys are a recipe for pain and in a few years those old turn key and go cars will be more popular as service costs for the new range of transformers increases...

Just fell of my chair...

That bently ad, actually re-read it to the end.

...a FULL BENTLEY and Recently, Specialist Service History (last Service £5000),It has 18 Stamps in the Service Book...

18 stamps, 96k, that's every 5k near enough, no wonder VAG brought them, what super annuities.

That Bentley is a stonking buy! With that much power and torque, that engine must be wafting about all the time and never really being strained. 97k is probably just barely run in! Don't think I'd like the service costs though.:o

As much as I generally dislike them on the grounds of stereotyping, but I'd lean towards a 5 series. Fantastic handling and good engines. :) Maybe even a 7-series? I imagine they depreciate more heavily and they probably still handle very well too.

Told you it was a nice one ;)

In Autoexpress this week it mentions that especially top spec BMW's have fallen foul of the 'credit crunch/petrol costs' quoting a top spec 2001 750i for less than £10K. That car was originally > £70K

Alot of car

Still like the idea of a Bently Turbo R ;)

Yeah , but the BMW would be a lot cheaper to run.

Another vote for a Saab 95, my Dad ran a couple of 2.3t's (same engine as an Areo but a smaller turbo) in terms of comfort they are spot on the Seats are well known for being the best around.

Have to agree with what others have said, if you want comfort, Saab or Volvo hands down.

Come on Colin, find a car you want then find a cumfy seat to bolt in it. Not the other way round.

You can buy a moulded rally seat with your own insert for £500.

I've always found the problem with that approach to be that you end up with a hard "you shaped" seat, which doesn't address my personal reason for feeling uncomfortable, which is feeling that I'm sitting on the car rather than in it.
