Need to calibrate steering angle sensor?

Featured Replies

I think I'm going to have to change the PAS angle sensor on my W reg 1.4 MPi Fabia.

I have read some other posts and some people talk about needing to calibrate the sensor. But others don't mention this.

What do you all think? Does it need calibrating? If it does, how do I do it?

I am new to repairing motors by myself, so I don't understand lots of the technical language - so layman's terms would be even more appreciated.

Thanks everyone

Hi

Does anyone have any information on this? (whether I need to calibrate the steering angle sensor and how I do it if I do?). I need to buy the part asap and am wondering if I can fit it myself

CHeers everyone

There is no need to calibrate the steering angle sensor on your car as it is quite likely that it does not have Electronic Stability Program (ESP) fitted.

Posting the same query in different threads can lead to confusion and is against the rules. See the other thread you posted in for my reply which directs you to fitting instructions.

Hello, sorry to make you guys go over all this again..just want to get it straight...so if my 2001 fabia (with ASR button in the centre console but not ESP) has the flickering lights/intermittent PAS problem, i can buy myself a shiny new steering angle sensor, fit it as per the instructions on the fabia-vrs.com site and just drive off with no need for any calibration? do i even need vag com to clear the fault codes?
