Briskoda Family holiday 2009 Feeler!

Featured Replies

Here is an idea for a Summer 2009 holiday for Briskoda members. Jeff and I went to Brittany this year and I think it would make the perfect location for a Brisky away trip.

Here is a link to the campsite that we stayed in, it is well located with loads of stuff to do in the area.

One problem is it make most financial sense to go outside of school holidays, but obviously it depends on if people are happy to take kids out of school for a week. I am happy to hear suggestions for dates to go, but I think from a Saturday to Saturday is good and some time in June or July.

I'm in! :D

Just make sure you set the date reasonably early so I can book time off :)

This is just a small selection of things on offer, the park itself as horse riding, adventure playground, swimming pools, pedalows, golfing etc etc.

I'm interested. :) Most likely I would just overnight it from Plymouth to cut down on the driving I need to do.

Sounds good EE, like Loz says get the proposed dates up as early as possible, no issue trying to get son out of school, after all it will be educational for him :D

Those campsites look to have some good center parcs style cabins on them. However, I've stayed in a europarcs tent like the "super tents" on that link, and they're plessant enough.

Question is, who's sharing? :D

im watching at moment not sure.

Yeah we stayed in one of those supertents and it was alright. To be honest I wouldn't be too keen in staying in one again - I found the lack of running water in the tent and having to walk to the toilet a bit disturbing, but then I am not used to camping at all.

I will get a few quotes for prices on different weeks so people can decide what is best for them.

How does leaving on the 22nd June for 7 days sound? Prices are quite reasonable - £300 for a supertent. When it comes to sharing, I think it will work best if everyone works out what sort of accommodation they want and book it themselves. Although it means we won't be next to guaranteed next to each other the park isn't that big so we can walk between the tents.

Also rather than having a specific schedule, people can make up their own minds what they want to do day to day, maybe with just a few group trips.

Group trip to euro disney? :D

Would there be the possibility of a discount if we booked as a group for accomodation tho?

I don't mind what sort. The cabin things seem quite nice too.

Sounds interesting, how many people can sleep in the tents/cabins? I take it the prices are split between how many people per tent/cabin?

That's how center parcs worked. :) It seems that even for the nicest "sleeps 8" big cabins, it's £600 for 7 nights, which ain't bad at all split several ways. :)

Tentatively interested, splitting £600 between 8 people would make the accommodation cheap enough and as not too far into France should be cheap enough on fuel too.

we actually paid half that for the the supertent, the above price would include a Dover/Calas return crossing for 1 car. It Comfortably sleeps 4, but can hold 6. One of the beds is a double so it would be a bit snug for two.

Well, Dover/Calais is pointless for me. :) I'd be driving nearly 800 miles or so (as a guess) when I probably need drive no more than 100 miles or so. :D

If we get enough then do those pictures mean we can re enact the battle of 1066 and the british dday landing on Normandy ;)
