benifits of upgraded clutch with remap?

Featured Replies

when i get my new furby vrs remapped from jabba, what benifits will i get from havin an upgraded cluth over not botherin? obviously the new one would be stronger and last longer, i was really meanin performance and drivability?

Nothing. :) The "performance and driveability" is essentially the fact it will not slip and you will have a much better "feel" with the power of the remapped engine. :)

am i right with a new clutch, you can get more torque from the re map?

If your getting custom remap you could ask the remapper to take into consideration that you do have an uprated clutch and they will probably give you more torque than if you had a standard clutch but it does all depend on alot of factors when they are carrying out the remap.

If your going to get the clutch done get it done a couple of months before the remap to give it time to settle in before chucking loads of torque through it.

I made the mistake of getting a generic remap thinking the OEM clutch would last but it had allready done 80,000 miles and the fun of a remap cooked the clutch within a week. Just wish I had bought the clutch 1st then I would have had the custom remap and as much power as the remapper could deliver safely.
