4 years old looks like its seen better days and might as well as its in the area :)

Cool, well i can supply a genuine kit, and waterpump etc..

PM me if you want prices etc

I suggest you look at replacing the bolts on the upper engine mount (part-numbers included) and that whoever does the job torques them properly and uses a drop of Thread Lok.

My old water-pump was absolutely perfect - the exchange unit was shinier, that was the only difference I could see. No gasket required, it has an internal water-seal.

All part-numbers are from Skoda data-base and should be the latest (May 2008) revs.

Prices are no good to you as mine were all in euro with 21% VAT on top.

Here's what I got from Mr. Local Skoda -

1) 038 198 119A - Timing belt kit, which consists of:

a) 038 109 119P - Timing Belt

B) 038 109 243M - Tensioner

c) 038 109 244J - Relay roller

2) 038 903 137AA - Auxiliary drive belt

3) 038 903 315AH - auxiliary drive belt tensioner

4) Top engine-mount bolts:

a) N 102 861 10 (1 of)

B) N 102 862 03 (3 of)

c) N 906 283 03 (3 of)

5) G 012 A8F M1 - VW G12+ coolant concentrate

6) 045 121 011 HX - Re-furbed Skoda water-pump with credit for returned old unit

Thanks for that mate, why is it necessary to renew bolt?

They are advised to be replaced when the mounting is removed.

Those 3 bolts hold your engine in place, so if they are weaken slightly by the removal process then your engine may become detached from the car...... very nasty when this happens. so for the cost of the bolts its 100% worth it for peice of mind mate

Yeah, a few stories about re: that mounting becoming detached with catastrophic consequences. One of the gurus (skudmissile, devontopia, bas, syd, lummox, ? sorry I can't exactly remember who) suggested it when I was collecting part numbers and stuff in May and my super-duper independent garage were going to do it anyway.

So far so good anyway with a brisk UK/Euro trip under our belts since getting the work done. You're probably talking 2 or 3 quid max for lasting Skoda serenity.

Always replace the bolts end of. The three that go into the engine and the main mounting bolts. Also torque them to the correct tension.

That mounting has been specifically designed to break in an exact manner in the event of a front end collision directing the engine downwards. If the engine mounting isnt as its should be be it bolts to tight, not stong enough whatever that mounting may not perform in the way it was designed.
