Compensation due? Continued......

After 22 weeks finally got handover date for my Fabia Estate 1.9Tdi 3,Black metallic, all black interior, alloys,ESP,the works.-Tuesday 15th July.

E-mail from the 10th July from Skoda UK stated that my order received top priority after Royce Roberts took over from Barkers, and as a further gesture of goodwill they would ask Royce Roberts to fit a set of floor mats foc because of the inconvenience I have endured. An e-mail straight back informed them that because I had paid extra for an upgrade to spec 3,I wanted rear parking sensors, front fog lights and the 16" Atria alloys, that with this spec floor mats came as a standard fitment. I have yet to receive a reply from Skoda UK customer services!

Excellent car so far apart from the intermittent fault with the rear parking sensors and the sticking headlight switch.I never really liked Barkers, other people have told me so aswell, but since the short time that Royce Roberts have been in charge I`ve noticed a vast improvement.Gone have the other makes of cars and a newly refurbished showroom is full of new cars.

My Fabia is booked in for the niggles mentioned on Monday,a courtesy car arranged and all this came with an apology for the problems and a mug of coffee[fresh made, not from a machine!]

After owning a Fabia 1.9 Tdi estate for 5 years I`ll drive this one for a while before I air my views on a comparison between the old and new models.:)

If I was given a set of car mats and a cup of coffee for a 22 week wait I would be over the moon.

Seriously though I think I would have told them to stick their car and try and get the deposit back and then get it cheaper from Drivethedeal or similar with a new reg plate on it.

Must be still asleep, forgot to mention that when I told the salesman at Royce Roberts about the floor mats he knocked off the price off the mats of the price of a boot liner. So I got a plastic boot liner for £19.

Have been in a strange situation regarding buying this car as it`s a company car with the upgrades and extras paid by me.

I originally priced up the car on the web using a broker,Broadspeed, but my firm prefered to order from a local company instead.Although the broker was about £650 cheaper, would probably have been ordered from the same place as Barkers and arrived alot quicker.:)

My opinion is that September will soon be here and your reg like mine will then be "old".

22 weeks is a long time to wait, I think you have been fobbed off by Skoda.

I have just read the original that your company paid £12,000 so in that case I presume it doesn't matter the same as paying yourself.

Probably been fobbed off by Barkers/Skoda but to tell you the truth I orginally declined the offer of a new company car from my bosses as I didn`t want to get rid of the car I already had.

Company car, but I added £3500 to their budget so I could buy a Fabia 1.9Tdi,air con, parking sensors, front fogs, rear discs and the estate model, otherwise I`d be in a Ford Fiesta,Peugot,Astra etc.It only had 40,000 miles on the clock but was told after 4 years old cars become unreliable and I had to have a new one.So whilst waiting 22 weeks for my new car I still got to drive the old one. While this car had 40k on the clock, dealer serviced, new tyres,8 months T+T,and only 1 scratch on the bonnet Barkers only offered £3500 p/ex.Great news for my father as he bought the car from my bosses for £3500 after seeing a similar car at Barkers for £5500! and upgraded from a 9 year old Felicia 1.4 petrol hatchback. So the car stayed in the family and everybodies happy.:)

You win.:)

I know Royce from my JCT600 days he is a good guy, the delaership will look after you - royce is a stickler for customer service - he learned a lot from Jack Tordoff.

Glad to hear you're mostly pleased with the conclusion...

Enjoy the new ride!!!
