Had a problem yesterday

Featured Replies

I went out yesterday morning to play golf.

As I was playing early and leaving home at 6.45am, I put all my gear in the car the night before so that it was just a case of jump in and go.

Anyway, unlocked the car, got in and started up. There was a huge buzzing coming from the tweeter speakers in the rear doors. So I drove about 100 yards, stopped and turned off. Still the buzzing continued. Took the keys out, got out of the car and locked it, still buzzing.

I decided to carry on, drove 20 miles with this buzzing driving me mad, RNS Trinax totally distorted so turned that off.

Got to golf, unloaded my kit, still buzzing.

Tried pulling fuses, still buzzing.

Gave up, locked the car and went to play. After 9 holes (just under two hours) I walked past my car.

No buzzing, no flat battery.

After completing 18 holes, jumped in the car and drove home, no buzzing, no problems.

Very strange really. Any ideas anybody?

Yes - I had this once on my Octy. It was buzzing even tho the ignition was off. I was trying all sorts to stop it and then I got a boom from my woofers and it died away. Hasn't happened since although I've got the boom a few times.

Scared me tho as I too thought I would get a dead battery if it carried on.

IIRC the dealers do a software update for this.Maybe VRStu can clarify this?

I too have had problems with my radio, changed it for an MP3 player and no problems :)

If you have the mp3 jack plug fitted (usually in jumbo box) make sure you do not leave a connector lead plugged in! Sometimes you'll get some static feedback through this. I do with mine - just 1 thought. HTH

Bad connection somewhere. Check the plug on the back of the HU ... and anywhere else in the signal path.

Hope it is not this - Colombus fitted by VRStu, so cannot believe it is that ;)
