Featured Replies

Hi, im looking at buying my first VRS its got 125000 but a FSSH and one owner. what sort of life do the engines have> ?

Difficult one this as I guess it's dependant on how its been driven through it's life but a well serviced one is essential. There are members on here with remapped cars in excess of 175k so they seem pretty solid.

Main problem area's with the octi are ARB bushes, rad mounts, coil packs and wheel bearings but these are not major things. As with all cars they have there niggles but overall they are an excellant car for their money.

Also make sure cambelt has been done every 60K with the things above

Welcome to the forum

you should get it cheap with the mileage, FSH is one thing but if it aint main dealer just check engine for signs of getting tired, if it has been well maintained it should be good for another 75k. All other bits are just fair wear n tear, bushes, bearings etc but aint expensive to sort. If your gonna tweak it I shouldn't push it too much perhaps keep power to 225ish and see how it goes, above that and i would replace engine parts prone to wear. 53 reg black magic octy 130k £3000, and there wasn't even any play in the turbo! so dont pay too much.
