Hello there

Featured Replies

Greetings, my name is Dan and I am currently trying to sell my diesel Civic to purchase a MK1 octy VRS. We are expecting our first child so I wanted something with some space but that was still fairly rapid and reliable. The civic is an 06 plate so by selling that I can in theory buy myself a slightly older car and bank the remaining cash. I have owned Impreza's in the past and did consider another one of those but then thought "No, not another scooby". I also considered an Accord Type R (Im a Honda man at heart) but their thirst for SUL has put me off that. So that left the VRS Octavia or a golf gti turbo. Seeing as I hate golfs (due to their styling and some of their chav owners ) that left me with the option of a VRS. I also like the idea of getting one and chipping it, then watching peoples faces when they get overtaken by a Skoda :D (I know, Im' immature) So what should I be looking out for with a used model of around 2002/2003 vintage. I know there was a problem with coil packs at one time. What do you guys think of your vrs's? Thanks in advance.

welcome to briskoda, hope you find the right octy mate.

Hello and welcome. I think your making a wise choice. A search through the Octavia section should find the info you need.

Thanks for the welcome's. Whats a better purchase? A newer car (04 plate) with 90k miles and FSH or a 01 plate with 60k miles and FSH?

Welcome :)
