Revo remap

Featured Replies

I have just booked my car in on August 8th for a Revo stage 1 at Backdraft Motorsport. Cant Wait :D will post initial impressions here when its done.

1 question though, is it worth buying the Revo SPS at the same time or is it just an expensive add on?

I'm considering doing the same.

Any1 have 1?

Good luck and have fun tomorrow .

Don't be slow about the review as I am looking forward to reading it to help make my mind up. :D

If I survive the long drive home I will be straight on it  Funny but I checked the distance to Backdraft and its 3.4 miles from my house yet the route home is at least 10 times that distance :D

Well it's been done :D I am very happy with the result

Didn't have it rollered because figures where never that important for me, I was more interested in how it drives after as it just didn't have the pull without labouring the engine before I feel.

Car now pulls well from around 2000 rpm and I got a fair bit of tyre squeal on my first proper launch even with T/C on.

Would have to say it's more noticable from 3rd gear, when floored in 3rd, 4th and 5th I can really feel the extra torque :wow:

Overall very happy with the map it is so much better than standard and the guys at backdraft are a friendly bunch.

One thing of interest was when I told them I only used Tesco super they reckon its regular unleaded with octane boosters and it can separate in the tank causing pre ignition on a mapped car and recommended V-Power or Ultimate, needless to say it is was filled with V-power after I left them fortunatley I was down to a quarter anyway.

Glad you like your remap

It will be a while yet b4 i get mine done, everyone whos got their car remapped ,they all say how much quicker it is,i cant wait to get mine done

Go careful now! :D:D:D

Glad you like the map mate, what is it like in the first few gears then - like standard or still some extra HP and Torque, but just not as much so's not to introduce to much wheelspin?

With the Revo did they say you have to use 98 Ron only from now on or does it not matter - anyone know??

Did they also say what the expected gains would be or is it it just a general guide as per the Revo site?

Did you get the Revo SPS in the end also?

Sorry for all the questions, I am sure you just want to get out and take it for another spin, but got me itching to have mine done now. :D

Does the ECU also learn and get quicker once it has had the map a while, IIRC somewhere.

Now go and enjoy, thanks for the review.

Whats the SPS?

the best thing is 3rd and 4th!!!! the pull is fantastic!!!

Ok just to clarify It is great through all gears but feels much stronger with the next gear and so on, if that makes sense. I think because 1st and second are lower ratio you feel it less but it is still a big improvement just felt more in the higher gears. Also the map feels stronger after 50 miles or so but that may be in my mind

Revo advised staying with super (98 ron) to avoid pinking but I never use 95 unless I have to

Gains I never asked, As I said I was after improved driveabilty and I get that every time I press the pedal :D

I didn't get the SPS as I simply couldn't afford both but I will when I can. You can make it safe to use 95 with that which is handy because I have once or twice had to fill up when super has been unavailable and ive been low :thumbdwn:
