No electric windows - central locking or electric mirrors

Featured Replies

Went to open the car tonight and just the drivers door opened then when i went to pull the handle of the rear door from the inside only to find all other 3 doors were deadlocked...Then when i started the engine all doors unlocked.

Now it looks like it may be something to do with the drivers door as when i lock the car using the front passenger door all doors lock accept for the drivers door which now has to be done on its own.

I also have no electric mirrors and on the drivers door control panel none of the switches work for all the 4 windows but have found that each window winds down when pressing the buttons on the doors but nothing from the drivers door buttons even the child protect button does not work now and the kids can wind the rear windows up & down.

Any ideas of what needs to be replaced and where i could look or is it looking like a dealer job?

I do have illumination on the electric door mirror button on the drivers door and also the 4 window switches are lit but they just dont seem to be working.

Why would the car lock from the front passenger door but not the drivers side.

Cant get over its even took out my windows and mirrors :(

Anyone - Any pointers?

It's a fuse... not sure which one, but I seem to remember it being red.... :)

Yeah I had the same - definitely a fuse.

I have looked at fuse 6 central locking and this is ok This was brown though.

I dont know what fuse to take out so will check all the red ones.

If anyone knows what fuse number that would be great, I was thinking it might of been a lot worse,

Will let you know how i get on. Thanks

FOUND IT!

But if you look at the picture link above it was a blue 15 amp fuse (as you look at the picture from the left it was it was the 3rd fuse up)

The problem is that it was fuse number 41 and when i look at the manual it says its for the cigarette lighter   .

It seems my drivers door control buttons and electric windows and central locking are all on this fuse...surley this is not right.:(

I cant understand why the central locking, mirrors and window switches on the drivers door are on a circuit that is described in the manual as Cigerette lighter.

Cheers, Skoda have confirmed it should be on the cigerete lighter ciruit but the fuse keeps blowing.

Dont know what to check next

Got it sorted, in the end i pulled out the big white plug for a min that wa inside the drivers door.

When i re-connected it everything started working as normal, mirrors, windows and central locking.

Why did it take pulling the plug to get everything going.

Least its sorted now

Pulling the plug and reinserting it may have cleaned enough of the contacts to form a circuit. I would give it a clean with electrical contact cleaner or similar to be sure.
