Does anyone know if the 2 litre TDI 140 has a much more audible turbo woosh noise than the 1.9 litre TDI 105?

Having only just driven both I'm sure it's more noticeable on the 2 litre, maybe the les diesel rattle with it being 16 valve has something to do with it.

I may just be being a little paraanoid about turbo problems but not sure what the symptoms would be with an impending failure. Warranty runs out in November so better to know what to look out for.

Much less whoosh from a TDi 140 than on our Mk 1 TDi 105 Octy. Indeed none whatsoever. Can you be more precise on what it sounds like?

serviced a few 2.0 tdi 140s,golfs,passats etc,cant say i,ve noticed any turbo noise,will ask my mate,he has a 2.0 tdi 140 golf,but its been remapped to 190bhp,so turbo noise mite be more pronounced due to increased boost.

The noise is just a pronounced spooling noise.

I had a VRS Octy before and it's sounds the same as that but between the 2 Passats we have the turbo noise seems more evident on the 2 litre.
