Driving lights daytime

Featured Replies

i know you there is an option to adjust the brightness, maybe it could be this way to make the daytime running work? ill try and have a look at it againw ith the vag com over the weekend.

I got a Octavia II 2006 Elegance, and I got it new in Norway, and it is delivered with driving lights. The head lights come on when you starts the engine. Is it someone that knows if its possible to reprogram this, I want the fog light in front to get on and not the Xenon lights. The Xenon bulbs are expensive and it is probably better to use the fog light, and I'm allowed to do it.

Is it possible?

Is it someone that knows about reprogramming of lights?

Bad idea, but not for the reasons I think you're concerned about.

When driving at night, if you have the foglights on, they will create a patch of bright light just in front of your bonnet. This bright patch will reduce the total distance you can see illuminated by the range of the headlights.

I think you missed something.

I’m not going to use the fog light on night time, but on day time. In Norway we need lights to be turned on in daytime. I want to have the fog lights as driving lights on day time, when the headlights goes on (night time), the fog lights has to go off. I’m not allowed to have both on at same time (in Norway).

can i ask what is wrong with having the side lights on??

Some cars have driving lights in the position of fogs.

This can lead so some drivers thinking fogs are considered legal to use in this manner.

Not many though. 205 GTIs did, I think.

Probably the law dictates a wattage higher than sidelights.

how about ordering some strip LED's and wiring them to the sidelights and fitting them along the grill area next to the fogs?

Ok. I thought you were planning the fogs as permanent running lights, similar to we see on most Ovlov cars.
