What's my Fabia worth?

Featured Replies

Okay I've seen a VRs at my local garage that I'm interested in - however it involves me selling my current Fabia! I just wondered if any of you have any idea what it's worth.

It's a 2001 1.4 16V Fabia 100bhp.

15" alloys

Air con, remote locking, reverse sensors, automatic lights, (and the usual stuff you get with a comfort).

40K on the clock.

Any ideas, thanks

Having bought a Furby of similar age/spec recently and doing the research that goes with it, I'd say you'd probably get £2-2.5k trade in and £3-3.5k private sale.

Average condition:

But they do tend to be quite pessimistic.

Wow that is pessimistic! Erk!!

Try Parkers, too:

Parker's

realistically retail you could get £2400 ish...trade in more like £1600.

I'm either optimistic then or the dealer I got my car from saw me coming!

Well, after 7 years you would expect at least 75%, maybe 80% of the OTR price to have come off, and that would be even with VAG typically decent residuals.

After recently buying a Fabia and looking at (an awful lot of!) cars similar to yours, I would expect to see yours listed for around £3250, perhaps with you accepting £3000 if pushed.

ive traded cars for 20yr..no chance wotsoeva of obtaining any where near 3k for a 7yr old 1.4 fabia.

I'll have some of what you people are on!

e.g. 2000 1.4 classic 50k miles £849!

It'd be a miracle if you get £1500-2000 p/x or private IMHO.

Some garages won't even want it in p/x, remember any quoted p/x value will probably really hide a discount on the car you are buying.

It'll never be worth the same as what it is to you...that's why I kept my MPI and gave it the missus....but she hates the fact her tax is higher than mine lol

Seriously though....its a Skoda so.....what do you think the Rear bulbs and the hand warmers/rear window might be worth :o)

Seriously though, if you really want the VRS that bad, then you'd be happy I suppose to trade it or wait with a personal sale.

Just my 10p's worth, but I always really fancied a 16v anyway but I only unintentionally upgraded to a VRS because of the interest free offer....but very glad I did. (to be honest it wasn't until I got one that I started to look into what the fuss was about).

If it was me tho, being a cheapskate, I wouldnt rule out biting my lip and keeping the 16v.

You're only 30Bhp ish behind unmodded, its still a nice car and in many other senses the same.

But thats down to you, you might want the VRS badly or get a newer but with tradeins you always have to accept the loss, its part of the business. Dealers have to eat to.

Hey Jonboy

Fabia prices vary a fair bit but £3k is going to be quite an optimistic price tbh for a 2001 car. I have to agree with Warwick cause I certainly wouldnt pay over £3k for a 7yr old car.

My cousin paid £4k for an 03 plate 16v car and there was a 2001 plate car in London marked at £3.5k (both 1.4 16vs)

Alternatively you could stick it on ebay and let people bid what they think it is worth.

found This on autotrader.

I reckon it's worth over £2000 if sold private (provided it's in really good condition with full history).

Although a 2001 car it has low miles and the bigger alloys / parking sensors make it more appealing. I would expect to get close to £2500 in a private sale.
