That's the thing, we have now 3 octavias. All bxe,  I've never had a problem with that engine? Why is it that everyone has bad luck with them? Personally I think there a great engine!

Theyre hit and miss,most miss a con rod at 100k 

Original engines in all 3. The l&k is at 175,000 miles. Other one is on 203,000. One only at 100,000. If they are serviced on time they will be fine!

Petrol or diesel? If the latter then keep an eye on the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).
