Sorry, I've never heard of them, but i have heard "don't skimp on tyres" many many times, and would offer the same advice. If you can't get any solid assurance that these are great (ok... good) tyres then you might consider saving up another 20 or 30 quid a corner and getting a very good tyre.

My personal preference is the Goodyear Eagle F1 (been a long time since I bought any - can you still get them?) but I'm sure they're only around 70 quid.

Cheers,

Andy.

can get toyo t1r's for £62.50 fitted but the road noise kills me,

just after some alternatives,

Goodyear F1's round off took quickly for me,

need to sort before the weekend thou

I think the Kumhos are considered the better of the two above. Nothing special, but probably on the 'right' side of skimping

I would suggest the Falken 912's for just over £50 from Camskill. Tried and tested on the vrs, and I think they are great tyres for the money.

I have the Falkens now - they seem pretty good so far... :)

I had Firenza ST08 fitted for £49 each.

good tyres imo

Got the kumhos on my fabia vrs been on for a good 500 miles now good tyre for the money definately don't feel cheap on the road wet or dry.

Running Kumho on my vRS presently as Hankook were not available. Can't fault them TBH

Just bought 4 kumho's so they better be good ! On face of it nothing but positives on tyretest etc

toyos t1r's brought, £64 each all in, not too bad i thought

i just got some toyo proxy 4's with reinforced sidewalls, they came in at 58 each fitted and id recommend them, especially on the front of the vrs, made so much difference!

cant imagine them lasting 10k though!

my last set of toyos lasted about 7k and they had thread showing on the inside edges.

Don't underestimate Kumho, they are not too well known over here but they have a good motorsport pedegree. I do a lot of work with Kumho's polymer technical group on developing grades of synthetic rubber and they are not what you'd call a 'tinpot' company. IMHO their tyres are as good as any other makes I've tried.

You'd be suprised how many of these 'unbranded' makes of tyre are actually made by the 'big boys' under a 'discount' label.

I have a set of Debica tyres on my Octy . cost less than £4O a corner. They are actually made by Goodyear in their Polish plant in Debica [hence the name] and have out performed the uniroyals they replaced.

Take a look on this link and it will show you how many of these 'unbranded' tyres are actually made by the major tyre companies

Tyres-Online: A Consumers Guide to Tyre Brands

Yes Mr. Hartley you are correct.

I have a friend who was a manager at ATS and once told me that a lot of unbranded tyres are indeed owned by famous brands.

What they do is give last years tyre designs to their cheaper siblings.

That link is very useful!

good tyres imo

i have these tyres all round cost me £47 per corner, really good tyres would recommend to anyone!!

Bridgestones all the way...!!

Best grip i have ever had.

Best lasting tyres I have ever had.

Road noise is kept to a minimum.

Can get them for £96 fitted... so not the cheapest.

But I think best value for money I have had.

Michael

912 or 452?
