£1.18 per mile after the first hundred. I think I would be bankrupt in 24 hours:(

Yeah, kind of a problem for me tbh, it's about 120 miles from my house to the Malthouse :( so it would be about an extra £135 plus fuel. And it's got less power than my Octy vRS :P

I am fine Val, it's the others, as you well know.......

3 series diesel ?

I doubt it, more like a 123 :)

Looking at the options she has, it looks like the best of the bunch :)

123D!! woo hoo, join the club. It’s a great engine, although the economy isn’t quite what you might be led to believe.

How can one meet have so many posts, and we haven't even made it yet!

Come on Mr Grumpy, Make my day :)

Amanda, economy is not an issue when it's a company car, more the emissions :)

Ah yes, I can’t believe how low they are on a 148mph car. The engine is really astonishing once it’s run in. It’s not that it is massively quick (it is quite handy though) but it’s the fact it pulls smoothly from very low revs to the red line and lag isn’t an issue or the fact that the 2nd turbo comes in a some undefined point (I still can’t tell when it comes in or how long they both overlap). It’s pretty quiet on the motorway too.

Sounds like it could be my next car too :)

You might need to invest in a towbar though, there isn’t too much space in them, probably similar to a Fabia overall

No need for a tow bar if we have two of them ;)

:D

You will still need something else if you wish to carry bikes etc

I will still have the Octavia combi for that :)

What economy are you achieving with it Amanda?

Steve

About 2 perceived Clooneys per mile (it's what keeps her going ).

I seem to average about 41-43mpg. It’s not so economical on the motorway as most diesels, but the stop-start really does work in town. I often see the mpg actually go up in town if it isn’t too busy.

That is quite low.

I've been getting between 35-40mpg on the motorway out of my gas-guzzler.

I drive pretty hard and it’s not bad when you consider the car weighs 1,500kg, produces 50gms les CO2 than an Octy petrol VRs, accelerates faster to 60, and has an almost identical top speed. Oh, did I mention the extra 120nms?;)
