Dodgy brake discs?

Featured Replies

If I've got vibration through the steering wheel during moderately hard braking but have just had my pads changes, does that mean I've got a warped disc?

Lee

LIkely to be - we had warped discs which juddered under braking. Are the discs cross-drilled, and which pads did you go for? :)

Chris

95% certain its pad deposit on the disc, If you can face it take the car out & really give the brakes some grief with several high speed to zero stops "OBVIOUSLY ON A CLEAR DUAL CARRIAGEWAY" or where its safe to do so & really nail it until the ABS is working overtime, it might just cure it

Discs are groved EBC varieties, had a look at the link and yes, maybe some streaky deposits on discs. This vibrational problem occured as a result of Brunters, so I would have thought that I used the brakes hard enough then to remove any deposits. But then I did run the brakes with Greenstuff pads, which others have commented become marginal under extreme conditions and possibly start to melt. Could these have deposited crap onto the discs?

Keep any more feedback coming!

Greenstuff's warped our Godspeed discs but they were cross-drilled as well which didn't help. Would expect the EBC discs to be up to the job, but you never know :)
