Help! Im an Idiot!

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Nice Website Btw, Im new to the Skoda World have a lovely TDi Octavia, someday soon will have an Series1 vRs...

Anyway, wondering could anyone help... I was away for a weeks hols and the battery on the skoda was flat when i got back, its ahppened before and a two start normally has it going again fine, this time i said sure ill try jump it first.. there was a black wire going onto the positive and a red going onto what turned out to be the negative... like an idiot i connected them the wrong way around (its confusing honest:)) shower of sparks ensued etc... So i checked all the fuses i could find (on the battery and in the side of the dash) all looked fine, so tried towing it and it started but all the dials went crazy and it sounded real rough until it died away again... Any ideas, really hoping i havent done any major damage, a friend thought it might be the main fuse but i cant find that anywhere...

Any Help Appreciated....

Donal
