Which Suspension kit for a new dad!!

Featured Replies

Ok, so ive been looking at some kits, below for example, are they any good, i know some are not specific to the vRS, but if you are replacing both springs and shocks does it matter?

Koni Str.t (Street) Fixed damping Sports Suspension Kits atfor Skoda Octavia Saloon 1.8T, 2.0, 1.9SDi, 1.9TDi - larkspeed.com

Or some i go for uprated dampers with H&R springs? although i wouldn't know which dampers to go for?

I wouldn't go for any suspension that doesn't state it's for the VRS as people have fitted kits in the past and had problems.

I would recommend the H&R springs (car is around 10f/20mm lower) Koni fsd's shocks. If the FSD's are a little to much, then speak to Mark @ Awesome and he may be able to sort some adjuster Koni shocks for less money.

He's on holiday till late next week.

Agreed about the H&R springs, alot of people recommend them. Is the 10mm/20mm drop less than that of the standard vrs springs?

I cannot afford FSD's... way to much but they would be perfect. Im looking at approx £300/£350 for the suspension kit, and H&R are going to be about £150 i think.

Quick question, as my springs appear to be ok, and they dont wear out much over time, but the dampers are knackered, if i replace just the dampers for upgraded ones that work with std springs, will that firm the ride up, giving less body roll / better handling or as im still using std springs will it still be bouncy?

Yes it will firm it up and no it won't be as bouncy. Shocks control the springs actions so if they are worn it will have a potentially dangerous effect on the handling.

Cheers.
