Which Octavia vRS mk1??

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm buying 1 of these 2 cars this week and I can't decide

This 1 is costing me €1800/£1425 more

Skoda Octavia vRS 1.8Turbo 180bhp (2003) - ?14,950 - Used Cars on Carzone.ie - New & Used Cars in Ireland

than this 1

Skoda Octavia VRS 1.8 20V Turbo 180BHP (2003) - ?13,950 - Used Cars on Carzone.ie - New & Used Cars in Ireland

Only differences are:

More expensive 1 has

+1 owner

17" Wheels

Sunroof

New Clutch

-17000 Miles

Cheaper one has:

Forge Waste Gate

Green Panel Filter

Has always used fully synthetic oil

I need help. I'm totally stuck..

THE MORE MONEY OF THE 2

just cos of what else it has and the less milage,

I think if you try barter wi them a bit youll get it for prob 500-1k less ne way.

No, I'm in Dublin.

Why the expensive one?

Is it just because it's reassuringly expensive? :)

The cheaper one - just to be different. (and because it's cheaper = more money to spend on mods...)

lol

there is that but the other one has extra things on it too plus much more mile less.

try haggle n it shouldnt be that much of a diff. althou the cheeper one sounds like it is still on the 20k service and the other on the fixed service, not sure

I was told that if you are on the long service it is ok but once you put short service oil in you cant go back....

tis up to you thou mate id go sunroof

Are you saying that the more expensive car has a new clutch on 17_000 miles? If so, I'd avoid it because it's clearly been seriously abused!

i think he means its had a new clutch and done 17000 less miles than the other,

but at least it has a new clutch.

I would go with the sunrof model..

The other one doesn't even have climate

it should have climate controle is std on the vrs.

but the sunroof was a 500quid extra i think?

i didnt even get asked if i wanted one. mind you i did get mine quite late.

climate controle is std on the vrs.

I don't think it was in Ireland.

May be wrong though

So is it a good or bad thing that it has a new clutch?

oh cheers fatty for the correction, int it stupid that the ones here get CC std and the ones somewere else dont?

daft and they sound pritty expensive there too.

id try get a viewin of it to check see what condition it is in. i dont think it will be bad tho might of been more town driving so wearin the clutch bit more, or it could be that its been ragged and worn it that way.

So is it a good or bad thing that it has a new clutch?

I suppose it depends on why it has had a new clutch really.

Sorry not much help I know :o

i've driven both. they both seem fine to me + they're both from skoda dealerships with full 6 month warranty

Ok, if it's new clutch and 17_000 miles less it's a bit up to you.

That said, UK vRS (and Elegance) had leccy sunroof and Climate as standard.

I would ask the dealer as to why it's had a clutch there could be a number of reasons behind it. Which is not always a bad thing.
