Dashboard Creaking sound

Featured Replies

I have posted this previously, but has been lost in the middle of other discussions (Rattle and iPod)

I have found the source of the noise.....

Between the passenger end of the dash and the A pillar

In removing this entire panel the noise had stopped, so i smeared vasoline across the leading edge of the panel that get inserted between the door hinge and dash. This cured it for a while until the heat melted it.

Removing the end panel (similar to the fuse cover on the drivers side) its less noticable.

I have inspected the panel and the far left hand clip looks broken???

Can someone else check theirs - and be careful not to break it when removing.

So there's an outside chance that the Dealer may be able to resolve this for me then !

My clip is also broken (I think its due to a tight squeeze when assembling). I found the noise was more from the doorcard against the door. They tried sorting it which broke the door card and resulted in a new one.

Make sure all your snap fittings are attached, one of mine popped of and was sitting on the head of a screw under the vent resulting in a rattle.
