Just had my car serviced but the service light hasn't gone off!

Is there a way to switc it off myself or do I have to send it back for them to do it?

Who did the service?? they should have reset it, you are best doing it with the correct software/cable, or VAG Com. There is another way, but it depends on the type of service they have done (longlife or fixed interval)

The Fabia is fixed servicing, so the 'manual over-ride' won't affect servicing times. The exact method varies slightly depending on when your car was built, however the correct way of doing it will be in your manual so you can save yourself a trip if you want!

i think there is two methods you can do it with vag com on the menu for transport etc and click the SRI. or im not sure if it will work on the skodas but it use to be by turning the ignintion on and off and pressing the odometer reset???

That's the method I was getting at, although as I mentioned, the order in which you press the reset button and turn on/off is different between SWMBO's Fabia and my own which I why I advised the OP to RTFM!
