Help needed plz

Featured Replies

Ok So I must confess I have never done so much as change speakers and HU's before now, for some reason I decided i would like some oomph! (reason being the octy OEM setup is crap).

So I have been collecting stuff for it, I have a HU DVD all singing all dancing thingy!, I also layed my hands on a JBL 10" Subwoofer and AMP, its not built together but rather seperate, now here's where i need some help..

I know i need a power line and i know where to run it and how!, but what power line do I need and how long?

Also I need other wires for the amp and then i presume to the sub and also from the amp to the HU..

So if possible could you tell me what i need basicaly wiring wise even better would be a link to a place that sells it!

then i can get to blowing me car up cheers in advance!

1) Power line - Good quality cable into wherever your amp is going to go. Thickness is determined by amp power requirements (I'd go one size more than you need) and the length should be kept to a minimum so a couple of inches of slack.

2) Wiring, depends if you're just using the amp to power the sub and the HU to do the speakers or the amp to do all.

The flat OFC speaker cable you can pick up in most stereo places or some reasonable car audio speaker will do it just fine. You obviously need a pair to each speaker or crossover and ditto for the amp. Main concern is again to make sure it can take the power.

I tend to run these under the carpets and seats with the flat cable, out of the way.
