lowering

Featured Replies

was thinking about dropping the fabia a touch

theres a set of springs for it on jabbasport for £150 and its a nice subtle 25mm drop but theres a few folk saying get coilovers but i dont want it really low and coilovers are nearly £700 without them even being fitted

what do yous think

Do you have a rear ARB fitted?

That would be my first port of call

the car is totally standard apart from tints and a panel filter

the reason i want to lower it is because it seems very bouncy round corners, it feels like the car is gonna jump off the road lol

Eibachs from Awesome. As fitted to mine and countless others. They're ok with the standard dampers, but apparently they're great with Koni FSD's.

You'll get a set of coilies for £300.

Dont know where your getting £700 from..

Save and get coilies, then if you change your mind, you can go lower!

Go for coilovers. Can pick them up for £360 with drop links.

You will still have to pay to have them fitted... but they are much better.

You can then choose how low you actually want to go.

And if you want to slam it to the floor every now and then... you can.

Coilovers will also be much better for handelling than just lowering springs. Lowering springs are mainly there for looks, unless you buy expensive ones then they will be good for both looks and handeling.

I was going to get springs, but then thourght if say i got 35mm drop springs, and thourght it wasnt enough..? I would have payed out god knows how much, and then not even be happy with it.

So instead of doing it twice... go for coilovers.

Very generalized view and unsubstantiated. The Eibachs (which cost me £145) have improved the handling dramatically and there is almost no visual difference.

To be honest, unless you drive your car very hard, then you won't need coilovers.

Eibachs are one of the higher end springs, as you said £145.

You can get springs for £75... so as I said if you spend more money on springs then they will handel better as well as look better.

So not that generalised... infact very true.

Coilys it is for me then! Although, Awsome do a Koni kit for £467.78p

Wouldnt mind having some feedback if anybodys got them?

Or if you could recommend some good coilys for that price.

will a 25mm drop do much? mines gone 40mm on spax coiles at the minute and still needs dropping IMO -just aint right yet. Bit outta what u thinking of paying, well worth the pennies tho if u can

Having tried a few different brands, I would suggest Eibach springs for springs but KW if you are going for coilovers. You CAN tell the difference between cheap and decent coilovers. Be aware that some cheaper brands are not progressive springs and lead to a very hard and bumpy ride. FK coilovers caused the tyre to pop off the rim on my old fabia in potholes. My KW's now are 100X better.

Just my opinion anyway

Alex

you could get vmaxx coils supplied and fitted for £380.

cheap coilovers but they aren't too bad, height adjustable only tho and could do with some stiffer shocks if going mega-low.

good for the money though.
