How much for a 20,000 mile service

Featured Replies

Had my VRS Tdi for a year now, bougt at 10,000 miles, now up for 20k service. The dealer I bought from have quoted £250 including brake fluid change. What have others paid?

(they also texted me saying it was due for 'recall 26E6')

Thanks

Seems about right for a dealer, but I don't have an Octy to give you an exact price...

Sounds about right to me as well.

If you're outside of London, I'd think you should be able to bargain it closer to the £200 mark , but it sounds about right.

Yes agree thats a reasonable figure quoted.

Thanks for the replies, had the car a year now, nothing so far has gone wrong (not even the DPF!), except for the plastic which holds the cargo net has snapped and a piece of under body paint about the size of a 10p came off when I was washing it - just with a sponge not jet washed. Must remember to show that to the garage. Oh and I'm taking it to a garage in Sheffield... not London.

If you've only had it for 1 year you don't need the brake fluid doing for another year so that is £50 off right there.

I bought it at 8 months old, it was one of the salesman cars / demonstrator, so its actually about 20months old. However I can't believe that modern brake fluid can't last for more than 2 years (I know it ages and attracts water), a scam to have my £50 no doubt!

If you think its a scam then dont do it. You dont have to and its your brakes.

I'd say wait on the brakes and get it done in a few months when the car is 2 years old if you really think that it's a scam.

Don't forget a major part of the fluids job is to prevent corrosion in the brake system.
