F**king Charvers

Featured Replies

Just spent most of the day getting car cleaned for vw show at harewood.

Whilst travelling back from the local bank I was going past some bushes when the car was hit by someone throwing an apple!

I couldnt immediately stop as it was a fast road but I did manage to spin the car round 2mins later and park up..but I couldnt find any one:(

Checked the car and found front indicator lens all smashed:(

It was probably lucky I didnt find anyone as I would probably be in the cells by now.

Dont know where I will get a spare indicator lens before sunday.

Try your dealer, I think that maybe the only option.

Yeah I think thats the only option.

Will make a few phonecalls tomorro.

I wouldn't have expected an apple to break a headlight/indicator casing.

Hope it gets fixed soon though.

 Id be P!"SED, if your like me it is a good job you didnt find them!

Id of smashed them up:mad:

good luck gettin it fixed mate, have fun on sunday

An apple can break quite a few things colliding with a car at speed.

Hope you sort it

B*****DS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about that michael

hope you manage to get it sorted out mate

Bad news. I suppose at least it's a replaceable part, rather than a dented panel.

Sorry to here of your woe!

If you even come to Portsmouth and find yourself going towards H.M.S. Victory Gate in the dockyard (Queens Street, Portsea) make sure your windows are up when passing Sarah Robinson House. The little Fu*kers lie in wait in the bushes nearly everyday and throw stones and mud-clusters at cars. I have been hit in the side of the face by mud - lept out and went to throttled the little bugger, but they sodding-well pegged it. The worst thing thrown at the car was believe it or not a child's bike with stabilizers, off the top of Sarah Robinson House (27 floors). It landed about a foot from the car.

I have read about a thrown jelly bean cracking the windscreen of a fast moving car.

We have had eggs thrown at the car from a motorway bridge and you would

not believe the paint damage :(

The Seagulls in Pompey are the size of prehistoric Terradactals too and they must have the same precision guidance bombing device the Yanks have on their jets. I reluctantly wash the car because it is pooooed on in under 5 minutes.

Try TPS in Byker - cheaper than Skoda. this is their number 08451455001. They are open till 6 today and 1 tomorrow. If not try europarts at Team Valley. If you don't want OEM.

Where did it happen, f**kin "bell ends".

Is it the side indicator or the front 1.

I know the feeling, but actually you were quite lucky - lens is easier to replace than other bits, body panels, windscreen and so on. and much easier to fix than the driver.

This spring, while crossing Netherlands just before Aachen (Aken), my Superb was shot at (with air rifle or similar) from a motorway bridge about 300 yards ahead. Luckily, I was going slow (it was exit from town limit or sth). The shot cracked outer layer of the heated windscreen, no piercing, just the shockwave. No cars for 200yds+ ahead of me, no cars next to me, clean road, too far from the bridge to be a dropping or even thrown stone. Also, by the looks of the wound ;-) must have been a shot.

I had the windscreen replaced 2 days later in Germany, paid by my insurance (EUR80 instead of EUR500 or so). I wish slow death and disease to the ******* who took the shot and similar idiots in other countries, and consider myself lucky that the shot did not go all the way through, as it was aimed exactly into driver's side, just above the steering wheel.

Sorry to here of your woe!

Used to work in Fratton, covering the whole of Prtsmouth area and found myself down there quite frequently. Those horrible little scrotes totally contradict the theory of evolution don't they??

I've had an acorn dent my bonnet, by falling out of a tree whilst I was driving underneath (due to location I was only doing about 20mph).

Managed to get a new indicator lens today.

Wish I had read your post first - JohnRS:thumbup:

All the local skoda dealers were quoting 4-5days delivery until Barmoor skoda informed me to try using TPS (Trade Parts Supplies) who provide parts for the VAG group and have depots all round the country.

Quick phonecall to the newcastle branch and they had 3 in stock -£18 which I thought was reasonable...still £18 I shouldnt have never paid because of little vandals.

Well at least its sorted.

Good to hear its sorted.

I use them a lot, well recently I have for my front end damage and they come up trumps every time. I remember you wanting a N75J a while back, give them a call, I waited 3 days when I got mine, probably 3 months ago. It was bout £42 IIRC. PM me if you want the part number & I'll dig it out & PM back.

Did you go today? I was there getting the last of my bits & I heard a noisy motor go past, may well of been you. Sounds very nice if it was.
