will skoda ones be cheeper than ebc brakes and are they better quality

Not sure if they are cheaper but I personally would steer clear of EBC brakes, especially the turbo groove discs.

Ok will price up some skoda ones, the rears need a caliper rewind tool will something from lazer or sealy be ok and will the caliper bolts on the front be them splined type?thanks also would you loosen the bleed nips when pushing plunger back or does it not matter:confused:

Ill second that Lummox.

Wear fast as, and the pad came off the backing on my Mini.

I go for Mintex, every time. Cheaper and better than OE imo.

1) Caliper wind back tool required for the rear

2) Caliper bolts on the front are 13mm bolts. Carrier bolts are 18mm

3) Loosening the nipples is always sound advice.

Factory fit pads would probably be Pagid front and Textar rears - you can get them from GSF. Discs, well GSF will sell a couple of types Brembo + ? and ECP sell ATE + ?.

Yeah, ive got mintex, and they stop well.

And seem to last too.

i went to my local dealer and got front and rear discs and pads for £128 which is very gd and all i did is told the man behind the desk that i had already had a quote for £128 from Trade Parts Specialsts Which i hadnt really got a quote from at all, should have been nearly £200+ .

Dealers do make me laugh tryingto keep there customers!

Mintex along with Don, Textar and Pagid are all now all part of TMD Friction Group, Mintex and Don are old well known names in the UK market, Pagid and Textar tend to be factory fit for VW and Audi and some newer Skoda and some Seats - along with ATE. ECP are meant to be the sole UK importer of ATE brake parts, used to stock Textar but seem to just want to carry SBC as a low cost option and GSF tend to be carry the best range of Pagid and Textar. Always do your homework online before buying as both these outlets will sell you almost the right thing just to keep their stocked selection small - convenient for them - can be a nuisance for you!
