Which insurance company ?

Featured Replies

my insurance quote from esure came other day for £396.been looking this aft for other quotes and norwich union came in at £301 (£220 but only £150 at esure)

.

i've been driving for 11 years with no claims so never used esure for making a claim.

so which company is best esure or norwich union

I personally would never use NU for moral reasons because of the way they have exported UK jobs to India (and the practical reason that it is a pain in the *rse talking to Indian call centres when you want to talk about your policy). I've gotten on alright with Zurich in the past but I've used the Co-op (CIS) for the past three years - all their call centres are in Manchester and the price includes a carbon off-set. I managed to get £40 off the renewal price recently by quoting the cheaper quotes I'd gotten elsewhere which made them as competitive as anyone in the end.

try swift their usually reasonable

Or Elephant!

Admiral/Elephant are okay. I made a write off claim with Admiral and they were good when making a claim and competitively priced.:)

TBH unless you are unfortunate and have an accident then you will never really have to correspond with your insurance company so either company will make no difference. I have been insured with NU before and am currently with esure (from shopping around each year I have been with many different insurers) and have to say that both have been the same. Only had to make a claim once in 13 years which was with elephant and I have to say they were extremely good.

I always go for the cheapest based on the above. :)

Hi jamestay 1,

Please I think that you should be trying the Post Office here, as I think you will be having the cheapest deal, for good cover.

I am using them now for several years, and the money does not rise.

I can strongly recommend Marks & Spencer: I have been quoted £308 for a 1.4 2001 classic fabia - includes legal protection, protected NCB, £250 excess, european cover & comprehensive breakdown cover with the RAC (includes homestart). Seems a lot of cover for the money.

I shop around every year and keep on going back to my broker -HSBC -less than £200, although I'm an old one with yonks clean on my licence (though I can only claim 10 yrs NCB) BUT 40+ years behind the wheel and it seems that my midlands address is well liked (mad fools )(and my bum's flat to show it ):-that's on my 04 furby 1.4tdi -so should think your 1.2 should be th3e same

i've been with elephant for about 4 years now, i have 7years no claims i'm 26 and pay £320 :D

they always beat the lowest quote you have sourced.

I'm with Privilege and my father in law has just switched to them as they were cheaper than his renewal by £60.

I got a slightly cheaper quote from Elephant but I had to claim with Privilege and they were very helpful. Remember price isn't everything and service and level of cover come into it.

I got loads of good quotes but once I'd protected my N/C and added legal protection plus courtesy car I would have been worse off.

As a side thing with the on-line quotes it's easy to alter the excess and my quotes only went up about £5 when reducing the excess by £100, just something to consider.

another vote for CIS - they certainly had the easiest forms to fill in.
