Featured Replies

Hello :)

Which oil do you use for your skoda fabia 1.4 combi ? it's gasoline engine... 2008 model 3500 km

can i use this to top up ?

Castrol Edge Sport 0W/40, 4 liter - Castrol - Olie- og kemiprodukter - Autoudstyr - thansen.dk

or this one ?

Castrol Edge 5W/30, 4 L (Long-life III) - Castrol - Olie- og kemiprodukter - Autoudstyr - thansen.dk

yes i know the sites are on Danish :) hehe

and when do i check for oil ? when the car i warm ?? or when it is cold ?

because when i check the car for oil when it is warm.. there are "more" oil rather when i check when it is cold :)

Cool to cold... Cold 1st thing in the morning after sitting all night. Yet there's something to be said for having a spin around the block no more than 2-5 miles then let it sit 30min to an hour or 2 for an accurate mesurement(i.e."cool").

Vag I believe are running Synthetic oils only at this point as to weight (0-30/5-40...) & brand that is often dictated in an agreement with the local importer. To help with supplying consistent availability throughout years of operation as well as to meet local climate & driving needs. So check your owners manual to determine what you should be running or call your warr. repair center to determine what they're using. Then stick to that unless you have a good reason to change but then try to be consistent from there on out...

CHeck the car when it's on a level surface and cold (or been off for at least 30 minutes)
