Hi, Another New Guy. First time to Forum

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Had my new to me Skoda Octavia Sport TDI 140 55 plate for a few months and loving it. No problems other than a recent manufacturer recall/software update (which incidentally got fixed within 2 hours of the initial phone call from the service dept.) and 2 brake sensor warning faults which were quickly fixed under warranty with no fuss - different from previous experiences with a certain french manufacturer I can assure you. Anyone pondering over getting a Skoda but scared of the unknown make the jump - its well worth it! I went for mine after a glowing reference from a beaming taxi superb owner and as I have worked in the taxi sales market I know just how good that recommendation is. Just wondering if anyone else with my type can register over 62 mpg?? Not all the time but some times! If so what's your record as this has now become a firm in car favourite pastime! Also whats the best xenon lights to fit? I heard the phillips bulbs are good.

Black Magic with Pegasus Alloys, Cats Eyes and Carnuba Waxed to the hilt.

Hiya.

Whereabouts in North Ayrshire are you? Only that's where most of my family are from.

Trypo!!

Welcome :)

Check your MPG properly, I seriously doubt you're getting 62mpg lol!

And you can't (legally) fit xenon lights to your car, sorry.

I'll bet the 62mpg is a trip computer figure, not a tank to tank one like I always quote!

Also, you can legally fit quartz-xenon headlight bulbs to a car supplied with tungsten or quartz-iodine ones; what is questionable is whether or not it is legal to fit plasma discharge headlights without appropriate units and the automatic leveling kit.

Hello & welcome :)
