Ok ive been offered a pair of tyres which are 225/45/17 at a cheap price, i may have these and upgrade from 205's. My question is do they have to be XL/ reinforced? As these tyres are 91Y and standard load. Cheers.

When I had the Falken 512's the were 94W now with the 452's these are 94Y

Cheers mate, yeah the different letters are speed ratings the numbers load index, just need to know if i will be ok with 91 with no reinforced.

I would also take into consideration that the 225's will exhibit noticeably more tramlining over the 205's.
