Electric rear window lock switch

Featured Replies

I`ve just noticed that the switch to lock the rear windows dos`nt work on my MK1 Octy VRS.

Anyone had this fault before, easy to sort or maybe a new switch:confused:

Thanks in advance.................

No but only this morning I posted that my O/S/F window does not one-touch up but it would one-touch down. Well I've now fixed that. I took the switch block apart and gently cleaned it, and hey presto now it works. It's very easy to do, and it might well be the same with yours.....

Do the switches simply lift out:confused:

I don't know about the vRS, but mine is an Elegance Tdi. Unclip the door handle where the switch unit is mounted, and then it can be removed undoing the three crosshead screws. Unplug the switch and remove the seven screws that hold the bottom. You'll need a very small torx bit for this. Take care that the plastic pins don't fall out, or note where they go so if they do you can put them back. It's all really very simple. You can now check the circuit board for any signs of a bad connection.

Hope it helps......

can you let me know if and when you solve this issue as i have the same problem on my 04 oct vrs but not done nothing about it yet

got the same prob guys i tried taking mine apart for a clean when i got my golf r32 silver trim for them but it still does it!! skoda say its a fault with the switch unit not the windows just that switch that locks the rear windows!

bear with me i found an octy in scrap yard with the same switches i was going to give them a try seein as they just pull out.

cause theres 2 different types of that button aswell 1 has a cross on a window and the ova has a pic of a baby with a cross.

ill see if it works and track down anymore for you guys as they are £69 from skoda
