Any Clio/Renault owners?

Featured Replies

My parents have an 02 plate Renalt Clio 1.6 dynamique+ it was some kind of parallel import so we dont have UK manuals although its RHD.

Im trying to find out a few things and not been too successful on net, renaults site is useless.

If anyone can point me to a clio forum that would be a big help.

otherwise if you can answer any of the following id be grateful.

Any idea of service intervals? its on 30+k and only had 1 iirc

Coilpacks keep going! Are there some better ones to get? Parents got some naff ones off ebay

Engine Sounds like a bag of nails, epsecailly compared to my VRS. Do they have anything like vagcom?

Need a good independant renault/clio garage around nottingham.

One thing that annoys me, the wipers or some kind of relay makes a loud clicking noise when operating.

Ive told them to sell it and get a reliable skoda (fabia) they are getting into biking and apparantly you cant fit a rear carrier as it has a roof spoiler (they dont want a roof rack) so they were told it needs a towbar and then a towbar mounted carrier, they paid 4k from my brother but still on the original owner as my mum registered it. What price would they be looking at

Thats a great help cheers.

I had a 2003 Clio.

I think they are all on 18000 mile / 2yr servicing.

Couldn't wait to get rid of mine. Nothing major went wrong it just never felt well screwed together and lots of little things broke. Renault is expensive to get things fixed out of warranty too.

The lack of cycle carriers is a PITA.

If they can get rid of it they should, they don't age well.

I believe it's the same 1.6 unit as used in the Micra - and those have 12k miles/1 year service intervals.

Rob.

18K or 2 years which ever comes first for servicing.

I've owned 2 1.2 16v and swlbo has a 1.2 16v which has now donw 43K miles. Been more reliable than the fabia.

I would agree with that, we've had 2 1.2 16v's and never had a problem.

They are good value (especially when bought pre-registered), frugal and very easy to sell-on when you've done with them.

My little 1.2 16v has been great - no problems here at all.

If you use the sites suggested above - I'm sure you will find me. :D
