sorry if this is a really stupid question got a vrs pd with the 18" alloys the central bit of the wheel ie inside the spokes(?the hub) next to the brakes is all rusted this has happened on all 4 wheels is this normal. i was under the impression the whole wheel was the same material ie the spokes of the alloy have not rusted .

Nope. The hub onto which the wheel is bolted is cast iron, not alloy. Take your wheels off, lightly sand the hub and coat with Hammerite Smooth silver. Did mine 6 months ago, no sign of rust so far.

It's actually the outer part of the brake disc and yes it's normal, although not cosmetiacally desireable.

I had mine sorted under warranty the first time but after that they refused to do it again so I just sanded it down myself and painted it in some silver hammerite. It's been fine for about a year now.
