F'ing IDIOT!

Winchester motors have a bodyshop. Think they are skoda and VW authorised and they are good.

Having said that a lot of dealers have the dent or smart repair guy in once a week and these days they can do most jobs and if they know what they are doing they are done very well

Cosham Body Shop, Fitzherbert Rd Farlington, can't miss it, it's just past Richmond Hyundai. hth.

I was at my parents today and there was a knock at the door and it was their neighbours from the house opposite. The daughter that lives there was clearly unable to turn her crappy little moped around in their HUGE car park and instead decided to push it backwards straight into the side of my parked car!!!

This is the damage!

Quotes so far come in at about £500-£600 + vat! They are getting their own quote from a mobile man!! I reckon that their "mobile man" is one of these paintless dent removal people and there is no way they are touching my car!

Can anyone suggest a REALLY good bodyshop in the Portsmouth area?

I'm hoping that the car will come back to me in original condition!!!:thumbdwn:

Hi SCVRS,

Not a very good thing to happen, as your car is spoiled now. If this is a private car park here, or is belonging with the girl with the motorcycle, then maybe the insurer, if she is having one, will not consider a claim.

Things that are happening sometimes like this one, are not so easy to solve if the land is private here. Maybe you should be doing checks firstly.

At least the person is being good to tell you, of the damage that she has made.

I hope that you get this fixed soon, and the car is as good as the new one.

Thanks Soviet, luckily the damage was caused on a public road just outside of their driveway/car park!

Also, I have spoken with a local bodyshop and they have told me that I don't even have to tell my insurance company and that I can just deal with her company. I haven't told anyone yet! Should I have???

The local bodyshop told me that if I feel that I want to tell my insurance company, then I should just write them a letter "for information purposes only" that way it won't go as a claim pending on my policy. Also I have protected no claims bonus and last time I crashed into someone in my renault Megane (entirely my fault) my premium didn't change at all!

The local bodyshop was talking about something called a "credit repair" any idea what this?

Thanks everyone.

I have had two of these in the last years and come renewal time I have to declare that I have had two accidents which haven't been my fault and full recovery has been made. My premiums have definitely been increased.

I've had this. My vRS was rear-ended last year, other party admitted blame- my NCD was not affected and I will make a full recovery of my costs. When we declared it on the wife's insurance renewal (I am a named driver, she is the policyholder), it went up about £20- the premium is well under £300, so that's a big percentage.

I'm in the unhappy situation of having several proven no-fault claims- I have been rear-ended twice, and a motorcyclist lost it into the side of my Ibiza on a bend.

I'd guess they will do the repair on free credit and invoice her ins. co.

to keep the skoda paint and body warranty would it not have to go to a skoda approved bodyshop .

Yes.

A claim even though a none fault claim will definitely increase your premiums. As previous poster mentioned come renewal time you have to declare all fault and non fault claims in the last 5 years.I used chips away to repair a dent on my Fabia vRS, that some numpty did in a car park. I have to say the repair/service/match/price were all excellent. Most forecourts have an equivalent 'chips away' type company working on forecourt used cars!

I would recommend Chips Away - I used them a few months back and Gary that covers Newcastle region did an excellent job.

UPDATE!

The company that came round were specialists in bumper scuffs and not dents! What the girl who hit me was thinking when she sent him round is beyond me! Anyways.....I have her insurance details and have contacted a bodyshop locally, who are putting me in touch with an accident management company called Kudos I think, although I cant find a website for them. Kudos, or whatever they are called, are calling me tomorrow to discuss what happened. I have been told that I don't need to tell me insurance company at all, as all repairs will be dealt with directly with the other parties insurer. That means my company wont even be aware of things that are happening! :D The repairs are going to cost over £800 from a sodding moped that was travelling backwards at about 1mph or less!! Un-bloody-believable!!! Let's hope it gets put back as good as new ASAP!
