Air Bubbles in Fuel Line

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 1.9TDI Octavia. I notices there are air bubbles in the diesel infeed tube (visible in the section of clear tubing between the fuel filter and injector pump).

Has anyone come across this before, and do you have any advice on the most probable causes?

I can't see any visible damage on the fuel lines (havn't looked underneath yet though), and there aren't any fuel leaks.

Also, could the air in the fuel be causing my turbo to occasionally cut out under hard acceleration? Switching engine off and restarting restores the turbo again.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The air in the pipe is normal.

Your turbo is more than likely sticking and overboosting.

Thanks Lummox,

So what causes the air bubbles anyway?

Not 100% sure, I just know I wasted a morning trying to find out why, then after a bit of research found out they all did it and looked at another reason why the car I was looking at had difficulty starting.
