Found a new Saches Clutch and Pressure Plate for the ASZ 130 BHP engine at £ 102 , is this good and do i need anything else .

you need to find out really, i know that sounds stupid.

i helped ross do a clutch a few weeks ago and even for a 99 1.8t golf gti there was a choice of clutches and they weren't interchangable so you would need to supply your reg or chassis number to someone like a wholesaler or dealer to know for certain.

That engine-code is in my Fabia vRS, and is mated with a 6-speed box (02M ?). Was the Octy the same or a 5-speed?

You'll need a new clutch-release bearing and 6 (?) clutch-cover bolts, I think.

If genuine, it sounds a good price, but not SRE. I think Sachs manufacture the OEM's for VAG.

same engine and box means nothing as you can still have different clutches that are not interchangable, we had this exact problem on a mk4 golf gti a month or so ago.

The octy i have is the 130 bhp 1.9 tdi with 6 speed gearbox , . I found the clutch on the AVS parts site VW KIT , Thought this was a very good price for SACHES the other part required is £35 , obviously would not purchase without a phone call and positive confirmatuion on part number etc .

I'd change the slave cylinder/release bearing whilst I was in there if I were you.
