central door locking problem

Featured Replies

I have just bought a second hand Octavia 1.6 Ambiente FSI.

When I try and unlock the doors with the key fob, all the windows go down but the doors (except the drivers door) do not unlock!. If I then try and lock it all the windows go up.

The only way I can open the doors (except the drivers door) is to go through the drivers door and push the button on the console by the hand brake.

Is this a known problem with an easy fix, or the long slipery road to lots of electrical problems?.

The windows only usually go up and down when you hold the lock/unlock button.

Are you still programmed on single door opening? If you press the remote twice in quick sucession it should open the rest of the doors.

It's not a fault it's a feature :)

Press the unlock button twice. - first press unlocks the driver's door, second unlocks the other 3.

Takes a bit of getting used to! Don't do it like a double mouse click - press once, wait a second or so while you hear the door unlock then press again. If you wait too long between presses it won't work - just press twice again.

If you press and hold the unlock button then it opens the windows.

How easy is it to convert from key opening to a blipper

Yours must be the "Classic" model if you have to use the key to open.

Yes it is, but there must be a way of changing it to a blip-per, maybe from a scraper or dread the thought from a dealer

Not without changing control units and programming etc if it is possible.
