fitting forge DV

Featured Replies

Heyup guys, i know i havent post in the say hello section though i will do in a moment just after some advice as im in the middle of fitting the dumpvalve!

Basically just wondering if anyone has fitted one of these can advise me on the following? (Btw its a 2004 fabia vrs).

1.So you locate your small 3 inch tube that goes to the air filter and feed this to the t-piece right? you then go from the other end of the t-piece to the solenoid? where do i go to from the bottom of the t-piece, the instructions are very vague. it mentions a brake vacuum pipe very briefly but not where this is etc.

2.Where is the solonoid best mounted? it shows a picture and says 'next to vehicle solenoids' though i dont see where it could be mounted. The bottom of the solonoid is like a metal pipe witha hole through, is this just a breather pipe or should i have this connected somewhere?

I have tested the circut board and it lights up on throttle release so i know this much is right. its just a case of which tube goes where and what fits to the bottom of the solonoid.

If anyone can give some instructions or maybe pictures of what they have done that would be muchly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Henry.

In all honesty, you won't find much in terms of fitting a DV on here because very few people fit them or admit to fitting them. You really need to do search to see what I mean (You wait to see the debate that follows this....;)

 haha, maybe a bad idea then? Its not being put on the car for anything more than the sound, though i do hear they spool up a bit quicker and you can obviously adjust your throttle responsiveness.

Not on your TDi I don't think mate.

Will worsen performance on a DERV ever so slightly ;)

basically ****ing boost away so you can sound like a demented duck on a massey ferguson

:iagree: :rofl::rofl::rofl:

1. Ok, the T-piece, pipe comes from the top of the DV solenoid and goes into the T-piece.

2. The two pipes the run along the back wall of the engine bay, dissconnect the bottom one and connect it to the left side of the T-piece.

3. The right side gets connected to the short tube that goes down to the bigger tube with the black ball thing attached to it (Thats the brake vacuum hose).

4. The vacuum hose on the left side of the air box stays where it is.

5. I connected the solenoid to the top screw in the air box using the mounting braket provided (see pics) and yes the bottom of the solenoid is just left with nothing on it.

Hope this helps. . .

Dont bother.... Will sound like an arriva bus!

Crap IS MY HONEST OPINION

the word of the day would be GASH!!!!

They sound emmense!!!!!! do it do it do it!!!!!!!!

Oh just read its on DERV.................oh dear oh dear...............lol

The biggest problem I had was getting a good feed from the ecu which took some splicing!

I thought it sounded good, mine did effect effect performance very very slighty (might of been the map I was running?), I bought mine cheap, fitted it for a laugh, then sold it to buy coilovers!! Get in...

Cheers fella, that definately helps! A lot more clearer than the instructions they gave!!

Ha-ha, yeah i guessed there would be a bit of hatered for them. To be honest if it does destroy performance then I will take it off! After mapping etc, surely it wont really matter?

No probs.

It is a great noise, and you will have fun with it, gets everyone looking, i deliberately floor it and change gear as soon as i feel the boost kicking in, pssssssssssssssst!!!

Oh and some flexi hose from SiliconHoses.com means you can mount it right behind the bonnet clip, meaning its ALOT louder!!

Well in theory thats is correct but it needs to be spot on TBH. If you have a search you will find some quite technical posts regarding how they work and what they actually do. It's not complicated but in essence what your doing is fitting a purely aestheic device.

I think they are worse than pointless but thats my opinion and although I would never fit one one to my car I can see why people can and do fit them. If your happy with it and like the noise then go for it.
