Split-R valves - is there any point?

Featured Replies

There have been quite a few posts about these recently and I just wondered... what is the general consensus? Are they worth it or not?

I will be remapping mine and fitting a CAI and DV in the Spring and I had originally considered the Split-R because I want to be able to hear it.

However, most people on here that have a Split-R are saying they can hardly hear them, or they start off loud but then get quieter after a while, and some people have even said they've just ended up setting them to fully-recirc.

If that's the case then I'd rather just buy a 007p in the first place as they're about £30 cheaper! :thumbdwn::confused:

Noise would be the only benefit tbh.

If you want noise then get one. Can't comment on the issues myself though.

Hi

If you are not fitting a CAI then , it does benifit with the sound

But as the 1.8T engine has a recirculating vale on to start with a full atmo would cause problems

But if there are people out there that does not want a CAI then they can have the sound with the SplitR

But if fitting a CAI then be worth having the 007P

Thanks for the quick replies!

Sounds like a 007p is the choice for me then. Saves me a bit of money to put towards the CAI as well

Just stick with the forge diverter valve, you still hear it and its a lot less boy racer + functional
