Tip of the Day - Octavia Tailgate Strut Supports

Featured Replies

30 seconds that could save you hours:

Take a 13mm open-ended spanner and ensure that the two tailgate strut supports, that bolt into the main body of your Octavia, are tight (see photo). They are on a normal right-hand thread, so, clockwise to tighten.

If either of them works loose, you're not likely to notice. And if the captive nut that they bolt into, on the other side of the tailgate pillar, snaps its welds, the repair is lengthy and difficult. I speak from personal experience!
