16" alloys on a vrs?

Featured Replies

can i put 16" alloys on my mk1 octy vrs with no brake clearance issues want to try something different!!

cheers

duncs

The fabia vRS comes with 16" alloys as standard, and I have the 312's from the octavia under them with no problems.

HTH

yup, the estate's came with 16" wheels anyway

Maybe. VAG 16s clear the 312mm discs but I'd not guarantee that with aftermarket rims.

its vag wheels im thinking of bbs splits from a mk3 anni golf still chewing it over

They have quite a high offset and are pretty narrow so might look a bit odd.

yeah i was thinking that, quite fancy a set of dished 16's with a nice drop for some reason, just too many big audi wheeled octy's floating around!! not that its a bad thing just want to be a bit different!!

Yep, my Octy vRS came with 16's as standard, 18's now though :)

my octy vrs came with 16s standard too . how does it go with 18s on her ? has it slowen down the accleration down much ?

If you want rid of the 17's (?), keep me in mind.

Why would it, if the rolling radius and wheel/tyre weight are the same?

just thought it might do , because i had a clio and i put 17s on her and it slowed the acceration down alittle bit and also knocked my MPG down

As I intimated above, if the 17" wheel/tyre combo was noticably larger radius (higher overal gearing), or heavier (2kg increase in wheel/tyre weight over all 4 wheels is like 10kg on overall vehicle weight to accelerate) that would impare your acceleration.

So would fitting tyres with higher rolling resistance, but that's harder to measure.
