Having my windows tinted tomorrow...

Featured Replies

Decided to get my windows tinted on my black furby, for 3 reasons really

a) little bit of added security

B) less UV rays coming in on the littelun

c) I like the look of um

Undecided what to go for?

What do you think?

I was talking to the guy doing them and he said that the front windows need to let 70% of light through - he said that I could probably get away with 50% but wouldnt advise going any lower, and I wouldnt, but its only £20 more for the fronts as well, and it will match better.

Cant decide whether to go for medium or dark smoke at the rear?

Dont like LIMO, and light wouldnt be worth the trip I dont think.

what % tint is on the SE's?

I like tints, go for it.

Be careful with the front, it takes very little on top of the standard tints to make them illegal.

i had limo on the back and 70%tint on the front on my last car but on the fabia i will prob go for 30 or 50% on front and 80% to limo on back dont no yet i havent decided it depends what the tints look like 2gether as i also have black magic fabia im not going as dark on the front again as i could c naff all at night!!!!! good point 2 that, no plonka could eva blind me from behind  bad point i couldnt see to reverse that well!!!!!! :thumbdwn:

My bohemia has factory privacy glass from the B post back.... i havent been out in the dark to see how dark it is at night....(only got the car on saturday).....lol

i went for 35% all round

Not done the Fabia yet, but when i got the OCty done, i opted for Dark on the back window, medium from b pillar back, and the lightest they had for the front.

Suited it well :)

I thought the were new regs coming out about tinting of front windows making any tint illegal? Might be totally wrong though.

20% on the back 5 windows are roughly what the SE are.

i got 20% on my back ones and i think my fronts are 35%

who you got doing them ultrajoel i had a bloke called martin daws owns a company called smart tints he's from wales, he did mine did a real good job

Looks cr@p ! :P

Nah, suits it very well indeed.

Kinda spurs me on to get my finger out and get mine done. :)

Looks great

Very smart.

Very nice. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I'm thinking of getting my black vRS done, but I think I'll just get the fronts done to legal levels.

LOL @ diesel inside decal. Funny, but I don't like admitting I've got an oil burner. Just me, I'm in denial.

does look good with the black

need mine done (stop toddler melting in the back a bit) but dont think that dark would suit lissy.

Had tints on mine all round, not as dark as that just a little lighter. i think they look great on black car, on any colour really. Had mine on for about over a year now, and not been pulled over by the police yet *fingers crossed*. Just wind the fronts down when you pass the police, if you do get fronts done. Thats what i do haha! :P

the tints dont look quite as dark in real life

You not wrong exactly. There is a limit on windows tints from the b pillar forward. This limit is practically what std windows are tinted to anyhow so adding anything will put it over that limit.
