Standard vRS boost pressure?

Featured Replies

Basically what should the standard boost pressure peak at?

The reason I ask is that according to some Skoda documentation it is the following:

0.16-0.17MPa (1.6-1.7bar or 23.2-24.7psi) - Taking a line off the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.

Thats taken from accelerating (WOT) from 2000rpm in 3rd gear, and taking a reading at 2800rpm.

But from what I've searched on here, that's way too high! Hence the confusion!

I've got this strange feeling that I'm being stupid and missing something obvious............

Also, what would a generic remapped car be running boost pressure wise?

Cheers lads

ON my Octy,

Standard was aroun 9-10psi if i remember,

Depending on mapping, it usually goes up to anything from 16-20psi (ish)

Don't forget too subtract atomos pressure @1.1 bar or about 14psi iirc.

..........I think :o

If i'm right in what I'm thinking 24.7psi minus 14 psi = 10.7 psi which is about right.

Or am I talking garbage .......does someone who knows what their talking about want to confirm this for us .....Please

Thank you sir! I think your right, and have confirmed that I am a mong!

Atmospheric pressure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wikipedia says atmos is 14.7psi, so yeah max standard boost would be 10psi.

Cheers buddy.

Someone local wants to know if their newly aquired octy is mapped or not, so that's why I'm asking.

Standard Mk1 Octy vRS peak boost pressure must lie between 8.5-10psi to be in spec then.

Just gotta fit a guage now!

Sounds about right.....Do you know where to connect the feed from ????

Gauge now fitted, running 17psi peak pressure on an APR remap. Feels bloody lovely!

I'll see what standard pressure is in 3.5hours when the trial runs out!
