Will a set of VRs wheels go onto my standard 2001 TDi without the need for any modifications? and will they rub the arches etc

they will go straight on without issues.

I think they will and I doubt they will rub at all. infact the standard fabia is higher by 15mm so will be less of a problem on standard fabia.

you have just got to get stud pattern matching (5/100) which the fabia shares with across the range.

Yep - they're at Ross' unit, they need cleaning, have tyres on them though.
