Continental Tyres Need Replacing In The Next Few Months

Featured Replies

Hi folks as I have said in the heading I may need some new tyres in a few months-Don’t know whether to go again for the Continentals or opt for any other makes (suggestions pls?)

The current ones are just hitting 17.000 miles. Is that good for the life expectancy of these tyres?

Or not very good. I can swear that I have not been thrashing the tyres due to speeding etc.

Thanks:)

use the search funtion mate. there is LOADS about tyres.

Populary choice is Toyo's T1R's however I'll be trying P Zero Nero's next as I dont find Toyo last very long on the front.

Currently running Yokohama Parada Spec 2 on mine, £65 (for 17" at least) each if you shop around

Grip very very well in the dry, especially when warm. In the wet, they are not too bad, about the same as the Michy Pilots that were on before

No idea about how long they last though. Currently done about 1500 miles on them and still look good as new though

Thanks to all that replied!

Depends on the tyre size etc

My Felly only just needed 2 new tyres after about 30k miles.

I have 2 Fulda Eco-Contacts on mine asnd they seem to be ok. Contis were a little too dear for me.

I just got 2 new goodyear F1's, and compaired to the ditchfinder falken 512's I had before, they are an absolute revelation! I'd had them before on the furby, but I'd forgotten how good they are.........

I'm liking Michelins at the moment.

I had them on my Bora and B6 Passat both 16" 205 and 215 respectively but I have Pirellis on my B6 Passat Sport 17" and they feel O.K but not as confidence inspiring, also had Pirellis on my Octy VRS and they wore well and the grip was reasonable but I never pushed it anywhere it's limits.

I have the conti's sport contact 2's on mine and the front are nearly at the limit after 12 months...???
